Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager-MN
Role Summary: The FSQA Manager is responsible for regulatory compliance programs and managing the FSQA team through coaching, training, problem solving, and conflict resolution to ensure the facility complies with customer and company requirements and government regulations. Further assistance includes serving as a backup for expertise in key FSQA processes, including managing recalls and food safety regulatory relationships. All of this while respecting associates, customers, consumers, and the communities that JB serves.
Essential Functions:
1. Food Safety & Quality Management Systems:
Support FSQA Management in efforts to develop, continuously improve, and support the on-going implementation of GFSI-recognized Food Safety System(HACCP Plan).
Validate and maintain HACCP plan accuracy while monitoring verification results and complaint log for improvement opportunities further strengthen the Food Safety System.
Collaborate with leaders to implement corrective and preventative measures as needed to ensure appropriate food safety standards are met for all products produced and distributed.
Establish, maintain, and communicate metrics to track system performance.
Provide advice, counsel, and assistance to management concerning compliance with Food Safety and Quality Management System standards and objectives.
2 Compliance:
Supports FSQA Management efforts to comply with all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations.
Collaborate with leaders to ensure that established Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) standards are current, accurate and met.
Serve as a point of contact with food safety regulatory agencies. Review all events and prepare responses to Non-Compliance Reports (NR’s) and other compliance-related events.
Provide advice, counsel, and assistance to management concerning compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules, regulations and customer requirements. Main focus on regulatory compliance.
Investigate and document responses to compliance-related corrective actions, and preventive measures.
3 Management Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and create a positive workplace for direct reports. Actions include making employment decisions, disciplinary actions, writing and conducting performance evaluations, objective setting and associate development/training; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems within and between departments.
4 Technical Issues:
Maintain current knowledge about food safety and quality management systems, product labeling, and item code setup. Maintain current knowledge about technical food safety topics and issues along with USDA, FDA, and Minnesota Department of Agriculture laws, codes, rules, and regulations, and GFSI-recognized standards.
5 Other duties as assigned:
Performs special projects or assignments as directed by the FSQA Sr Manager.
